I think most people use anapod explorer from red chair software for about $20.

Post 6 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Thursday, 28-Dec-2006 15:07:42

forget that. i'm gonna use xplay. i hear anapod sucks with jfw. is that true?
i hear that anapod thing is an itunes alternative. hmmmm.

Anapod does not suck with JAWS, in fact.
You can also use Winamp to load music on to your iPOD. If of course, you're still looking for something aside from Itunes.

5: Er... what do you think?
6: Dunno, never used any of the programs in this topic.
And well yeah, it is a itunes ulternative, just the same as everything is really, one could argu that windows media player is a ulternative to itunes.

Post 9 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Thursday, 28-Dec-2006 16:16:28

hey guys. i'll try them all. xplay, winamp and anapod. can you formate an ipod with anapod or do you have to use itunes?

Post 10 by forereel (Just posting.) on Friday, 29-Dec-2006 2:43:58

Okay people I think you'll find that I tunes is the best to use. It cost some, but it's the best. Also if you already have music you own you can simply send it to you pod using Windows. The I pod becomes another drive just like say you CD or
DVD player under my computer. Now downloading music from other places I'm not sure it works well, so if I'm worng post and correct me.

how you use Winamp or Anapod

Post 12 by shadow of john (Veteran Zoner) on Monday, 01-Jan-2007 1:13:20

make sure you have winamp 5.2 or later to use this feature. Open winamp, then connect your device. After that, it should come up with a dialog. You will know this because it makes a nice "beep" sound. YOu will have to unrestrict your jaws cursor activate then press incert R till it says unrestricted. Find the dialog and find the yes button. Click it! You're good. You'll probably going to need the winamp scripts found at
jfwlite.com
or, just add me to messenger or skype or something.
or just send an email to jrock_90@hotmail.com and I can send you the jaws 7 and up versions of the scripts, but the jaws five/six ones are on jfwlite. So are the jaws 7 ones, though. Sorry for the long read!

Post 14 by The SHU interpreter (I just keep on posting!) on Thursday, 04-Jan-2007 23:03:57

Post 15 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Friday, 05-Jan-2007 1:06:12

just use xplay. it rules. it will sync your ipod automatically if ya want it to. it works. hell you don't even need to install itunes anymore to use the ipod.

and let me give some poingters on using the ipod...

first. the menue button is just above the ok button. when the headphone jack is at the top the button for the menue is at the top.

next if you want to use the eq. to this.

note: it's a good idea to have the clicks come rough the head phones and keep the music at a low volume when doing this or pause it.

to use the eq.

first, hit menue. the main menue appears. then just scrol all the way to the right. and go back 2. the first thing is all the way to the right is done, then shuffle then settings. click the wheel eight times, hit ok, then pause the song so you can hear the clicks and test each eq setting. if ya like it, hit ok and go to done. if not hit the ok button again, you should land back on the different eq settings. hope this helps.

Can you actually use winamp to put music on your Ipod? I thought you could only use it to put podcasts on your ipod.

How do you put music on you Ipod using winamp?

Post 25 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Thursday, 08-Mar-2007 11:53:11

hey all.. i found out how to fix it.
unfortunatly you have to install itunes but it does fix it for now.
install itunes 7.01. go to something like filehipo or old version or something like that.
hope this helps someone else because it helped me.

is xplay free or not, how does the demo version work

Post 27 by Unreleased Secrets (Zone BBS Addict) on Friday, 01-Jun-2007 13:28:09

I use rockbox. I never used the iTunes firmware. You can copy music from and to your ipod like if it was a normal drive and you can have the folder structure you want.
